I see the Post Office is trying to go up another .02 cents on stamps. AOL News: “the agency is facing a $7 billion loss in 2011. The rate increase will bring in an extra $2.5 billion, meaning it still faces a $4.7 billion loss.’
Wow. Guess those $20.00+ plus dollar a hour wages are not such a great idea now, are they? Or the full benefits, the retirement funds. It is great to give your workers all this - but when the money stops… what then? How do you plan to pay for it? And just raising the cost is going to drive more customers away. I might just take a check with me to pay for parts instead of charging it to the store accounts, have to pay it a few weeks later by mail. I can set up a lot of the bills I pay now by mail online. I can cut back. Way back.
Internet, fax machines, paying bills online, free shipping as a way to get you to buy, companies not spending money on ads and catalogs. Here is a idea- how about you downsize? I know from reading the news you have cut back but on one hand you bitch you don’t have work, while on the other hand you are paying bills, labor out. How does that work?
They also want to take Saturday delivers away. Fine by me. In our town you don’t get the mail till around 3:00 pm and all the banks are closed by then, most business. We stop Saturday delivery years ago ourselves.
Sexy- the swagger Jeff Goldblum has in his walk at the end of the Independence Day movie.
Oh yeah... hot.

It's a business no matter how they whine and try to swing it. Even they must face the pressures of competition.
Of course, they're doing an assbang-up job without lube.

With more and more internet use for bill paying and shopping they have faced a big change in income but instead of easing back on their number of employees by not replacing those who retire or quit, they instead may end up putting a whole lot of folks out of work at once which sucks. Whoever is running that place isn't living in the same world as the rest of us.

Looks at Ng's comment....uh......not living in the world with the rest of us?.....that would be the politicians that make rules for others and yet don't abide by them.

I know it's a month over due but here goes. Over here in WA, the contract and union rules are that they cannot fire Amy more full time employees, but can relocate regionally. My best friends Girl works for the post office, they are idiots. She says it plain as day, they screw the hard workers and leave the lady ones with senority alone. It is just a system that needs a complete overhaul.
